Well, not always literally, but you’ll get the point looking above.
I came across this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and thought it might be interesting.
In Japan, this seems to be very common place: a small showroom with a really small lot and a little garage in the back.
Some might be just selling used cars and haven’t gotten rid of the old brand signage, some actually still offer new models, most of the time with only 3 or less new cars on site.
In the showroom, you’ll see a Pleo Plus, Subaru’s version of the Daihatsu Mira.
It has a yellow/black kei car plate, which tells me this is a used car, as most of the time, new cars at dealers either have a plate with the car’s model name on it, or none at all.
On the left, two more used Subaru Kei cars, including a blue second generation Stella on the left.
It seems like many of the times you see a really cool car in Japan, it’s when it’s sitting at a service station, like this

at an Eneos station.
And check out this modern

with the old school hubcaps!
In the same parking lot as the Fiat, this

that’s been modified...and it’s front and rear wheels don’t match. Welp.
When it comes to American made cars in Japan, it may not be of an American brand, but it’s still something to be proud of: the third generation

.
Essentially, it was a rebadged Acura TL, and was built in Marysville, Ohio and exported to Japan from 1998 to 2003, the only generation of the Inspire that was produced as such, every one before and after were domestically sourced.
Remember what I said about service stations and cool cars? Well, here’s a tastefully modified

at, yet again, an Eneos station.
So, there’s a bit of Japan for ya in the morning, I’ll post up some more later on.

notice the cheaper wheels are on the back. Something tells me this isn’t AWD.

Google Street View, trying/failing to blur the license plate?

There was another super small dealership across the street. And I looked around for more cool cars, only found one near a gas station

I think the hubcaps look good on the Fiat!

Was there actually a front wheel drive Skyline though?
